As a matter of fact, I think you were the only one I appologized to. Not sure if I remember you accepting, though.

But if it's OK with you, I won't be sending any Private Messages or emails to you. That is the crux of my problem with that other forum. When the admin/mod decided that the best way to respond to my criticism, no matter how pointed or sharp edged, was to start sending other members private emails about me using personal attacks and foul language, that was disembarkation day.

I can play nice over here, I just won't be floating along on that barge. So if you don't mind, let's keep our discussions public so there can be no misundertanding.

I didn't join here to start a fight. I wouldn't mind if this whole thing went away. But I don't mind finishing one if I have to.

Lots of pent up anger and fustration. Nobody is more pissed then me. I could give a rats ass who is pissed at whom. This site was started by a friend who knew me and knew how important having "fun" online about cruising was to me.

Mr t - chilll - I remember one of my favorite threads as the FOMTs got ready to cruise on the Norway. Great humor, a few sharp sticks in the eye, but everyone looking forward to a great group of people onboard a ship. Then the shit hit the fan.

Thanks for being so understanding, Jim. It's nice to have a forum where I can tell people what happened over there on that other board without being poofed. We ALL know about being poofed, don't we? .

Isn't it interesting the administrator who poofed me won't come over here and defend herself? She says they have an open forum there, but yet on an issue that is basic to free speech, she will only discuss it where she has control over the outcome. She is afraid of the deep water, but prefers to stay in her own little protected harbor. Instead some of her minions come over here and take a few cheap shots. And they want me to shut up and only discuss it off line. HA! I say let the sun shine on this fungus. It's the only way to kill it.

Was it wrong to let those clowns have a full and unpleasant dose of their own medicine? Everyone seems to have their own opinion. And that's great! They are entitled to it here in the open water of FOS. But contrary to what you mayhave heard, I never made it personal and I never use ONE SINGLE OBSCENITY. And contrary to what they say over there on that forum they have the same constraints as CruiseCritic or CruiseMates or CruiseLineFans or any other forum. They just encourage obscenity, foul language and act as cheerleader for the trashing of legitimate sites and personal attacks.

Jim since you mentioned that Norway threa long ago when our little group of cruise nuts was trying to decide what ship to go on after the Norway disaster, I'll just give everyone a little background. We had quite a program set up for that group cruise on the SS Norway. We had booked just about every big suite on the ship. The wife and I had booked the Isle de France Owners Suite. We had a "black and white ball," progressive cocktail party, sailaway party, Cruise Critic meeting and other events for that week. Well after the ship came apart, we decided to have a game of "Cruise Survivor" to determine an alternative. As usual, many were leaning towards an NCL cruise, but the options out of Miami (where most of us had already bought airfare to), were not good. So we ended up on an RCI ship. Not everybody who wanted to go went. And not everybody who cruised would have prefered the RCI ship. But most went along and we had another adventure to write home about. So much so that many of those folks have cruised together since. Sometimes as a group and sometimes just as a couple or two. Bring that back to today, or rather about the time that other forum was getting started.

A friend of ours from a past cruise decided to have a little fun on the cruise forum hisrtybuf is an administrator for. I guess our friend thought that that other forum would be a good place to have a another discussion about where to get our next cruise fix. Some of the folks whome we had never met on that other forum decided to participate and put in their two cents. More like Fort Knox, but I’ll get to that in a minute.

The few folks that we had been on cruises with before that were members of that other forum had a spirited and (fairly) well mannered discussion. In the meanwhile, I chatted with folks who were not members of that forum and considered their votes, too. The online votes seemed to be leaning toward an NCL cruise out of Miami with a Princess cruise out of San Juan coming in a close second. But when folks who don’t have the time or inclination to post on that board’s votes were counted, the San Juan cruise came out on top.

Members of that other forum decided that only votes on that forum should be counted since the thread was on that life giving and all important forum. That I had somehow “rigged” the voting. They slung insults, obscenities and even little smiley faces flipping me the finger. Real classy. Hey, a lot of people want to take a shot at me. I can handle that.

But nobody gets a free shot.


I called them out on their rudeness. I thought it incredulous that they would believe they should have ANY input on where our group was going to take our hard earned vacations. It was pure superciliousness. By calling a spade a spade, my posts were deleted. Can you imagine my audacity in pointing out that not a single one of those people were going on our cruise, that their only input seemed to be to tell us about how we didn’t know what we were talking about. A few of them talked big, but when it came down to actually doing something, it became obvious that none of them ever intended on going. How arrogant of me for not counting their votes - or putting up with the insults and slurs. Like little tattletales, they started hiding behind the skirt of histrybuf , the administrator on that board. She decided to delete my posts and lock the thread. All this on the "Poof Proof Cruise Forum!!"

But histrybuf just couldn’t let it end there. She begins sending private messages through the boards telling me to stop posting and to my friends using foul language and insults to tell them what a jerk I am. Did she really think that I wouldn’t hear about it? Since then, I’ve asked that all my posts be removed from that board and my membership revoked. I don’t want even my screen name associated with that forum. I wasn't banned BY them. I banned THEM. (You'll notice you won't even find the mention of their name in my posts).

Just to give you a little more perspective, after my posts were deleted, and our thread died off, they decided to have their own poll and decide where THEY would go for their first "official cruise" promoted by that forum.

They couldn’t decide on where to go, what line to go one, what itinerary works best, what port to sail out of, etc., etc., etc. That thread dissolved into another inane strand of bickering and blather intended to give them something to make their day go by faster. How dare I have a discussion about a group cruise that actually made a decision and went somewhere- one that they didn’t agree with!

So come out and play, "Buffy the Tractor Slayer." I'm sure it'll be entertaining for all of us to see what happens in a forum where I can fight back. Remember, you got your one shot on that other forum. Tell us all about it!

So Jim, thanks for allowing me on the venue to vent all this. Anger? Nah, life is too short. I don't get mad, I get even. And here is the best revenge - while they are over there continuing to bicker, using smileys to make obscene gestures and generally amusing themselves with the sight of their posts on innane and useless blogs, I'll be on cruises. Enjoying myself, meeting new friends, diving through wrecks in warm waters, having sumptuous meals with the captain, sunning myself on warm sand and swimming in crystal clear waters. Meanwhile the adminsitrator will be sharing poinient tales of their last Carnival cruise.

If this site is a real forum and not a joke set up by a friend of yours, I'll post a review here when I get back from each of the cruises I have planned in the next six months or so. I've had featured reviews of cruises chosen as "Featured Reviews" on several websites. (I spent hours writing down details of past cruises with helpful hints and information because I am an egomaniac. Or at least that's what I've been told ). I'm happy to share information with other people on forums like this one and others - even on that awful, dreaded, evil Cruise Critic.

The wife and I are sailing to Bermuda again this month. We're going with a bunch of friends to the Southern Caribbean in November. On that one, because we have so many great friends going, we'll have a HUGE party in our aft penthouse. I'm guessing that not one of those people will want to take a cheap shot at me. (OK, well maybe BAMA or HomeDepot, but it'll all be in good fun!). I know you are the King of Freestyle, but you should consider going. (That was directed to Jim, not to any of you "Buffheads." Then in January we'll be sailing on the Sun for the third time in a return to the Western Caribbean - Roatan, Costa Maya, Belize.

In Roatan we'll visit with the couple that runs the orphanage there and share some of our good fortune with them. I'll be able to see some of the progress they've made in providing food, shelter and guidance for the discarded children of that poor country. Planersedge visited there with us briefly the last time we were in Roatan. I'll be sure to give a full report.

OK, gotta get back to the real world now. And getting ready for our next cruise!

People thought they were in an actual situation where everyone wanted to go on a cruise together, but you had no intention of going with a majority vote, and you simply laid down the FOMT law. Which you are justified in doing since the FOMT is all about the T boy by definition. Then you were hurt when people thought you were a bully? Who the heck are you kidding? You can say whatever you want, and voice your opininon as loudly and as politely as you want, but you don't get your own facts.

I am going on a cruise in November. I am taking a land vacation to your neck of the woods in September.

Nobody is missing out on their vacations because you crapped on a cruise. Most of the people who you hurt have continued their lives and are enjoying their vacations. Most of them are pulling away from a group cruise because of the bad taste you pooped in their mouths. To pretend that you haven't done anything to earn your reputation is simply par for the course with you. I think you are the one who compared us to a pig in the mud, and I just referred to it. I actually, do not think you are swine, but a sad person who has to be the center of attention everywhere they are.

The size of the ego just makes one shake their head.

Glad you had a chance to vent. The site is not a joke but I don't really intend to grow it. It was put up by friends when I was banned as a gift to make me laugh and feel better. The funny thing the folks at CC seem to think it is real and I built it.

The forums are not about one individual. There are many people who answer questions on NCL -- and there will be more. As a matter of fact the NCL forum is doing just fine. If some really feel that one person "made" that forum; they are sorely mistaken. If folks have found a new home (actually TWO: another new one created by the person originally banned) -- why not just get back to the business of talking cruising and NCL?

I can play nice. If they want to restart the obscenities and name calling, I hope you'll forgive me Jim if I shove they right back up their back side. As long as they play nice, I'll be the biggest sweetheart on your board. I hear they are continuing to take cheap shots at me where they know I won't bother to respond - over on that other board. As long as they stay over there, I don't care.

That board is going to shrivel and die anyway. Even though it has 700+/- members there are only about 25 of them that post regularly (and you know what I think about half of them). And they HAVE NO CONTENT WORTH READING. That's why I'm hoping your board will be a resource for cruising rather than a load of.....Ooops. I almost started it again....

Looks like we can get back to cruise talk again. I've got three cruises planned, two on NCL, so we should have plenty to talk about. I'm even planning a "Live From....." ala Shoreguy on one of them!

Maybe you could give me a few pointers on how to do that since you are THE MAN when it comes to that sort of thing!

Do them in Word - logon cut, past, and post

Rule #1 when drinking and bloging - Do it in word - do not logon Turn off PC check blog when sobber, fix, logon, cut, past, and post.

Rule #2 - make sure what you post makes everyone sorry they are not on your cruise even if the cruise sucks and wind is blowing over 100 knotts..

Rule #3 - if it starts to cut into your "fun" time onboard stop.

1: Laptop. Check......do you know which ships in the NCL fleet offer wireless access? Do you know if the wireless signal is strong enough to be used anywhere exept within a very short distance of the internet cafe?

2: I'll try to keep the drinking to a minumum. NOT. Seriously, I understand it's always a time saver to check the board, sign off, write your answers and then sign back on. But there's nothing wrong with sitting on the pool deck with a laptop and a rum punch is there?

3: I'll be sure to rub it in goooood! Especially to the Buffheads......
