Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But, you shouldn't say that you have been "banned" from CTT, when that's just not the truth.
This is not the place to have a discussion about CTT, I realize, so I'll hopefully keep this short and this is all I will have to say about it.

If you had taken time to read our mission statement at CTT, you would know that we do allow a lot more freedom of speech there that at most other cruise boards.....so it should come as no surprise at the "colorful" language that is used there. I can't believe it took several months for it to offend you.

You might not think 700 members in a year is a lot, but we think it's pretty darn good for a small site that does not accept any advertising, or ask members for money to keep it going. CC has been operating for MANY years, so of course they have a gazillion members.

Each cruise board has it's own rules.....and you play by their rules when you are on their board. So, yes, when we are on CC, we play nice and abide by their rules. I can't imagine what is hard to understand that concept.
Running a cruise board is more work than you might imagine. Maybe you could try starting a FOMT board. Then you might have a little understanding in what is involved in trying to keep everyone happy.

CTT is not trying to compete with the mega-sites like CC. Heaven forbid, I would never want to be as big or as impersonal as that site is! It is truly a clearinghouse for cruise information, but is not a place to begin friendships or even chatter with anyone. I mean, how many time can you discuss tipping, babies in the hotubs, jeans in the dining room and chair hogs?
CTT is more of a cruise "community", where people like to talk about other things. Some people may like the rigidity of a place like CC, but others prefer the laid back atmosphere of CTT. People need to go where they feel comfortable.

So, in closing, good luck with your future cruises. Sorry I'll never be a FOMT now. Happy posting on CC & here.

I'm happy to see that you are out in the open ocean instead of in the protected harbor of your preferred forum. Yes, I do understand about the rules on CC. That's why I'm still allowed to post there. I understood the rules at that other forum to be a little different. That I could express my opinions freely. Apparently that wasn't the case. Your rules. Your game. Keep it. But when somebody dishes it out, and takes cheap shots in the dark, they better be able to take it, too. That's the way it is in the open ocean.

BAMA is a great guy and a real credit to your forum. It's nice to see that he is acting as the voice of reason here. (But if you'd cruised with him before, you'd know that it's a real switch! HA!) Brad and I have a lot of fun on cruises. I'm guessing if you met me Nippy, you'd probably be OK with me. But if you weren't, I think I could live with that.

WOW! A Mission Statement?! I think you take this whole idea that you're providing a great service to the cruising public a little too seriously. Babies in the pool, chair hogs and jeans in the dining room! What earthshaking topics of deep importance! And does anyone provide any solutions to these earthshattering events? Or do posters of that other forum just like to bitch about it? Please!

I agree that it's time to get back to talking about cruising. That's why I'll be doing that mostly over on CC. With an unmoderated board like this or that other forum, this thread will only serve as a magnet for all the mudwrestlers. That's too bad. SG is a good guy and I'll will miss his posts. I'll check in here from time to time to see what he is up to.

Maybe once you see that moderation is necessary, you'll figure out how CC does it. You might just take it a little easier on Cecilia. Nah, what am I thinking!) I don't think anybody on that other forum knows what it takes to manage a board with 10s of thousands of opinions, personalities and ideas. Not by asking people for money or accepting advertising. Those would be reasons for people NOT to join. But by maintaining a level of courtesy and not allowing off topic, profane or postings with personal attacks to continue without moderation or deletion. And providing real information and help. Unlike most of the people on that other forum, I have actually met Cecilia. I found her to be charming and intelligent. Do I agree with everything she does? No. But it's her job to keep that big ship headed in the right direction and that other forum doesn't seem to grasp that just a few posts or sentences can get a discussion out of control. 700 v. 250,000. The numbers don't lie.

This board has been up for a week and has 20 members. At that rate, it'll have over a thousand in a year. But I doubt it. It'll just become another cruise insider's board if all it does is gather the spin off from that other forum. And fake posters and trouble makers. Brad, as far as people taking on other peoples identities, there is only one here has done that. It's so nice to see someone using Host Cecilia as their screen name and making snide remarks and personal attacks. Real class. Just goes to how you that the open ocean will have pirates.

Like I said, anybody can take a shot at mrtractor. Nobody gets a free one. Unless of course you're the moderator and can suppress it! I'm tired of mudwrestling with the Sus scrofa.

I wonder if the real Cecilia and/or Cruise Critic could file a defamation suit against this board for using her commercial trademark and after tracking down the poster via an IP trace file a suit against them, too? Then those cheap shots wouldn't be so cheap, would they?

Seriously, check you ego and if you tried to look honestly at the world you might find that you might have caused a lot of your own problems. Further using another board to attack someone who isn't posting here pretty much fits some of the labels you like to toss around while taking them so personally yourself. You act like you don't give a crap and yet here you are spewing junk about something you don't care about.

I am sure that Deb knows that you pushed her to act in ways that she wasn't completely happy about, but again, when you act like it was some sort of unprovoked attack well that my Virginia friend is simply BS and if you had a clue you would see that.

Did somebody hear a noise?

Maybe it came from one of those "O Crew" jerks. Sounded very similar. But it could have been a high pitched whine emminating from that other cruise forum. Only a lot wierder...... sorta like pigs wallowing in mud...... "Splash, Slop, SOOOOOOOOOOOOUUIIIIII!!!!!, Oink, Oink!!!"

As long as I keep hearing noises like that, I'll have to keep wondering about the source. But then some people just can't help themselves. They MUST roll around in the mud.

Reminds me about the story Pat Reilly, four time NBA Champion coach likes to tell about the frog and the scorpion. The scorpion was trying to convince the frog to help him across the river.
